°1979, Currently living and working in Halle (Antwerp), Belgium.

Over the past 20 years, as both a drawer/painter and illustrator, Sebastiaan has been exploring his visual and narrative boundaries within the field of editorial and picture book illustration. Always looking for a personal and fictional universe within an applied context, often hand in hand with literature & poetry.

Loneliness, folktales, wanderlust and bewildering nature are recurring contents in his artistic practice. The illustrations in his picture books visually claimed a dominant role and translated the stories or articles through subtle humor and criticism.

In recent years, via experimentation & technical variation, he opened up his work as an illustrator towards an autonomous, artistic practice as a drawer, painter and ceramist.

Currently he is working towards a solo show for Rufus Gallery (Gent, Belgium) and a selection of his drawings will be published by Posture editions in the month of November 2024.
